  • Professor of Department of Medicine/Department of Genetics,
  • Washington University School of Medicine

As a physician scientist, Dr. Ley has been devoted to both the treatment and the basic research of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) since 1980’s. In this interview, Dr. Ley will talk about the significance of the recent results from the first whole-genome sequencing of an AML patient, which was a landmark discovery in the field of cancer genomics. Dr. Ley will also tell us about the next strategies for cancer research, the impact of the whole-genome sequencing technology on personalized medicine, and a continuous challenge to promote translational research.
